Tamahere Country Club Care Centre
Setting up for growth from day one: how Tamahere Country Club Care Centre put the right workforce systems in place before challenges became embedded
About Tamahere Country Club Care Centre
Tamahere Country Club Care Centre provides aged residential care across rest home, hospital, dementia, respite and palliative care settings. Its focus is high-quality, person-centred care in a supportive environment where residents can continue to live meaningful and fulfilling lives, supporting residents and their families through every stage of their care journey.
A growing, single-site service, Tamahere Country Club Care Centre uses Simplifi to roster, manage attendance and support workforce planning for approximately 45 staff, with a potential 75 when fully operational. Managers, administrators and frontline staff all use the platform for scheduling and timekeeping.
The starting point
As a new site, Tamahere Country Club Care Centre had no legacy rostering system to replace. With fewer than 10 staff in the early days, rosters were managed manually and attendance tracking was straightforward.
As the workforce grew, it became clear that manual processes would not scale. Creating rosters, managing leave requests, recording attendance and maintaining accurate payroll information would have required significant administrative time, with an increased risk of errors, inconsistencies and duplicated effort. The team wanted the right systems in place before those challenges became embedded in its processes.
What prompted the search
Growth was the driver. Rather than wait until rostering and attendance became a problem, Tamahere Country Club Care Centre set out to implement a solution that would support its growth, improve visibility and create efficient workforce management processes from the outset.
Its Director of Operations and Clinical Manager had both worked with other workforce management systems in previous organisations. That experience gave the team a good understanding of the common challenges: systems that are inflexible, difficult for staff to use, or that require organisations to adapt their processes around the software. Tamahere Country Club Care Centre explored several workforce management platforms before selecting Simplifi.
Why Simplifi
Starting with a clean slate meant the team could choose a partner that would build processes around the organisation, not the other way round.
"We wanted a partner that would work with us to build processes that suited our organisation. Simplifi stood out because of its flexibility and willingness to adapt alongside us, and that has continued to be one of its greatest strengths as we've grown."
Xin Ng, Director - Clinical & Operations, Tamahere Country Club Care Centre
How it has held up in practice
The Simplifi team took the time to understand Tamahere Country Club Care Centre's operational requirements and helped tailor the system to its workforce and workflows.
"That collaborative approach has continued in practice, allowing us to build rostering, attendance, and workforce management processes that genuinely work for our care centre while still supporting growth, compliance, and operational efficiency."
Xin Ng, Director - Clinical & Operations, Tamahere Country Club Care Centre
Advice for others
"The biggest lesson for us was that workforce systems should support your people, not create additional work for them. Because we were starting with a clean slate, we were able to implement a solution that aligned with our operational needs from day one. Looking back, the greatest benefit has been having confidence that our rostering, attendance, and workforce processes can continue to evolve with the organisation rather than hold it back."
Xin Ng, Director - Clinical & Operations, Tamahere Country Club Care Centre
